Going forward into 2011, UB Ballarat Pride will continue to grow and develop on the achievements of 2010.

UB Ballarat Pride is welcoming back the following coaching staff:

Jo Dash, Head Coach;

Daniel Cooke, Division One Coach and

Kerry Lightfoot, Coach 19/Under.

The History

In early 2007, Netball Victoria commissioned a review of the State League netball competition.

As a result of the review, the State League competition would cease to operate at the end of the 2008 season, and a new structure of the Victorian Netball League (VNL) was introduced for 2009.

With the new structure of the Victorian Netball League, interested groups were invited to apply for one of the 10 licenses available.

Ballarat Pride was successful in its application of a VNL license, being one of only two regional VNL clubs, and the only country club.

Each successful licensee must field teams in each of the following divisions:

Championship;

Division One; and

19/Under

With the success of Ballarat’s application, this gives the players, coaches and personnel the opportunity to play, train and develop at the highest level within Victoria.

In 2010, Ballarat Pride secured a new naming rights sponsor, and UB Ballarat Pride was born.

Representatives of UB Ballarat Pride are well     supported by  key sponsorship agreements with the University of Ballarat; City of Ballarat; and The   Athlete’s Foot.

UB Ballarat Pride also has the support of many other local businesses.
